(More customer reviews)My grandmother's for I don't know how long before, I've been using this spinner for over a decade. I eat salad every day and have found this inexpensive little spinner to be quite dependable. Unlike other reviewers, I appreciate the openings in the top and bottom that allow one to run a modest stream of fresh water through rapidly spinning lettuce; I find the result to be very clean and crisp. You do have to be careful not to use excessive force when spinning (like any other spinner). I've also learned NOT to wedge the spinner against the side (or corner) of the sink - this bends the shape and causes the gears to skip and grind and the lid to pop. Like any other tool or appliance, using this spinner correctly will yield better results and avoid problems. So, if you have one, try pressing down on the lid near the spout while spinning and gradually increase the speed. You should be able to spin at high enough speed to quickly dry without any problems.
I actually laughed out loud when I read what some other reviewers had to say (or shout). And, by the way, it seems quite obvious in the photo that the outer bowl has openings around the bottom.

Tupperware Spin N Save Salad Spinner in Chili Red Review

(More customer reviews)While I am a huge fan of Tupperware, this product is sort of dissapointing. If I had never used an OXO Salad Spinner with an easy press-down button I would've been much more impressed with this. However, it take quite a bit of arm power to turn the knob and once you get it going it's hard to keep the container from sliding around the counter. The good side is that it can be used in the fridge with the included lid and can be used to store grapes and other fruit as well. If you can get this for under $20, I would purchase it. Otherwise, go for the Oxo Salad Spinner - cheaper, same quality, and a heck of a lot easier to use!

How int he world the engineers imagined the little tiny(about 3/8" in diam.) gear would last is beyond me. A person puts all their weigh down on the lever and this little gear will be easily destroyed. I suppose if your German "und you do jast zo" it would work for a longer time. I would not recc. this to anyone.

KitchenAid Salad Spinner Review

Pros:
Okay, it's better than my previous Italian made spinner with the crank.Even though that one has a larger capacity than this KitchenAid, it was prone to getting unbalanced which the KitchenAid has yet to do.The dividers work for helping to spin dry herbs like cilantro, even when I just place it in one of the three divided compartments. No unbalance.

Cons:
Unlike my old one and the Oxo, the design of the KitchenAid does not allow me to easily wash or rinse items using the drying basket insert: the plunger in the center easily takes in water which I'd prefer not to get water inside.I was able to remove the plunger assembly although it did take some effort to remove it the first time.While I can live with accidentally locking the plunger while spinning the basket, it's annoying that the base of the bowl has a plastic ring with holes.I'm guessing the holes create a semi-seal to help hold the bowl in place during spinning.The down side is that water enters these holes during washing and the bowl must air dry overnight preventing me from just wiping it down and storing it away immediately.

I've noticed that the Oxo salad spinners are also available with a stainless bowl as well as the spinner assembly can be taken apart for cleaning.I'll probably be my next spinner.

(More customer reviews)I love this salad spinner.We wash and spin a big batch of lettuce at the beginning of the week and keep it in this spinner in the fridge.It stays fresh for days.When it is time for dinner we pull this out of the fridge and have clean, dry lettuce ready to go.I find that we have been eating more salads now that we don't have to go through the bother of washing and drying lettuce every day.

Norpro Mini Salad Spinner with Measuring Jug and Pour Spout Review

(More customer reviews)This is a well made and sturdy unit.It is all plastic, of course, but everything fits together perfectly and it works like a charm.

One might think, upon quick review, that this is very small.If you look more closely at the site graphic you can see that it measures up to one quart/liter, with a lot of extra room, so the outer vessel is actually almost twice that size.

There are three separate parts 1) the lid with the manual spinning mechanism; 2) the inner basket with slots throughout (including the bottom) for allowing the escape of moisture/liquid; and 3) the outer vessel into which the inner basket sits.

I like that the outer vessel can be used for a myriad of helpful purposes, and it has plenty of size to allow it to be very practical.There is a nice, rounded, spout at the end opposite the handle.The lid also has grates, in the spout area, through which you can pour out the liquid with the top on.It sits at 6" tall by over 6.5" in diameter (at the top).The inner basket is 4.75" tall by 6" in diameter.

I would say that it is top-rack dishwasher safe although my instinct is to hand wash, which is certainly easy enough done.I say that particularly because I have found that anything that is plastic or glass, and has measurements painted on, will lose its paint eventually if it is washed in the dishwasher.Similar items that I have always hand-washed seem to keep their painted measurements for many years, but not so much if washed in the dishwasher.So if that matters, there you have it.

I like this item very much and it will continue to be a valuable little tool for my kitchen.

(Scratches, dings etc,)As others have stated it does have a lot of pieces that need to be put together however it really is fairly easy.Set aside 1 hour for assembly and make sure you keep the two packages of rods separate.They have a VERY SLIGHT difference in height and are hard to separate once out of the package.
It is a good cheap alternative to store your entertainment accessories.The unit does spin.The bottom has a cheap plastic ring with ball bearings.I have the unit on a very low carpet and it spins with no problem and extra clearance.Overall the quality is cheap with minor imperfections.(One rod did not screw in all the way.However unless I am standing right on top of it the imperfections are not noticeable and DO NOT effect the structural integrity of the unit.
This unit appears to be listed on Amazon for two different prices.
SUMMARY - The price matches the quality.I would buy this again.

(More customer reviews)I own this wheel for my hamster and I have to say it's the best I've owned ever. It IS silent. But here are some tips to get the best use out of it.
1. Make sure the wheel's stand is on top of a layer of bedding on a flat level surface
2. After some time, the wheel will begin to rattle a little. This is because of the loosening between the colored and white part. To fix this, just put tape along that crack all around the wheel (make sure it's tight!)
3. Setting the wheel at a diagonal angle against a corner is sufficient for not letting the wheel move and the sides hitting the side of the cage.

(More customer reviews)I've only recently purchased this spinner, but I'm loving it.

Things I love:
1) The non-slip base works well.
2) You can really get some momentum going with the spinner.
3) The bowl is a good size for using as a mixing bowl, so it does double duty.
4) There is a lid, so you can stuff the whole bowl in the fridge if you want to.
5) There isn't any pump that connects through the middle, so you have a nice large space.
6) Very handy for washing even large fruit, even without the spinning part. I dump fruit--everything from grapes to apples--into the bowl and fill it with some slightly soapy water. Swish, and then just lift the plastic insert to drain. Rinse, and voila. Clean fruit.
7) Easy to clean.

Things I don't love:
1) If you're an enthusiastic spinner, there isn't a good place to keep a good grip on the bowl while you spin.
2) If you grab hold of the bowl in just the right way(with your fingers resting in the slight indentation in the lid)and then let go of the spinning handle while it's still wildly spinning, the spinner handle can fly around and scrape the top of your fingers. But, as long as you're not quite as stupid as I was, it won't happen to you.

(More customer reviews)We've gone on our second 12" Silent Spinner Wheel in less than a year.It is fairly silent at first, then gets slowly louder and louder.It's not deafening by any means, nor is it of any real bother.It just isn't the "silent spinner" that is advertised.We use it for our hedgehog (she weighs less than 260 grams) -- and she loves it.My real concern is that the yellow knob on the inside of the wheel continues to loosen and pop off, causing the wheel to slip away from the mount.I'm not sure if it is a design flaw or we just get defective merchandise?It is properly mounted to the side of the cage according to instructions and not obstructed in anyway. Luckily, our hedgie hasn't been hurt by this problem.For the money, I would expect the wheel to be much more durable than it is -- compared to other wheels on the market.The stresses our hedgehog exerts is no more than any other small animal, and the wheel seems to be capable of withstanding much more.I've written an e-mail to customer support at Super Pet to get some answers regarding this issue.Hopefully, if it is a design flaw, they will resolve it.Until then, I would look elsewhere for an exercise wheel.Hope this helps any potential buyers.

(More customer reviews)I was hesitant at first to even consider any bead spinner, but I read some reviews for this one [...] AND I had a coupon for 50% off, so I jumped.I am SO glad I did.It's totally easy to use, just takes a little practice - for me about 10 minuest!The bowl rotates either way so whatever angle is good for you.I used .15 beading wire and was going like gang-busters in less than half an hour.The three bowls are GREAT so you don't have to dump and re-load the beads to change color.I hope they make it so you can purchase extra bowls for it.I used rechargeable batteries so I'm not concerned about battery life and as far as the little sound it makes, it could be annoying to some, but the speed of stringing tiny seed beads that I can hardly see outweighs that by MILES.

(More customer reviews)I have been on the hunt for a QUALITY flow through salad spinner for months!In my mind, if the water doesn't flow through, then what's the point?Your greens just sit in the dirty water.I bought a very good flow through back in 1981, it lasted (with daily use, I might add) until a few months ago. I tried to find the excact one, but it seems they are on longer on the market.My sister gave me a new one BUT the water doesn't flow through, useless.When I finally found this one I had to buy without seeing it and hope it was what I was looking for.It was more than I was looking for!Very sturdy, flow through and with a pull cord, which way out performs the little circular hand spinner that most all spinners come with.This is an excellent product and I know I will still be using it 10 years from now.

Kyjen Dog Games Star Spinner Treat Toy Review

(More customer reviews)I have a golden retriever as well as a pembroke welsh corgi. They love their food and tend to inhale it. But they are also very smart and tend to get board. I bought the Star Spinner as well as the paw print shaped toy by this same company and they had a blast from the moment I filled it and set it on the floor! I love that the toys are plastic. So they are much easier to clean (just spray and rinse in the sink, or wipe out with a clorox wipe). Particularly since my corgi prefers soft/moist treats as compared to my dry kibble loving golden. I bought this for roughly $20 at my local canine specialty store, which is far more affordable than the "name brand" products. And since I worry about the bacterial growth on the far more expensive wooden models, the easy to clean and disinfect plastic one has been perfect for us. Safety Note: as with ANY dog toy, please supervise your dog while using. Their "drive" will be increased while playing with the toy, and with the paw print model with the removable cups, don't let your dog chew on the cups, but redirect him to the treat inside the dish after he pulls out the cup. My golden retriever loves it so much that I now use it to give him his kibble every day! Which is much safer as the bigger dogs tend towards bloat, which can kill your dog. This allows him to have fun while eating tiny amounts of kibble at a time. Win,Win!

Its the same exact function as the larger spinner, just smaller and alot easier to store as well as being a little easier to control on the counter. If you make salad for one or maybe two people, this spinner will be perfect for you.
