My husband and I embarked on a mostly vegan lifestyle about 3 months ago and I decided that I needed a larger salad spinner.I purchased this salad spinner to replace a smaller one that is battery operated that I have been using for at least 15 years.

Pros:
1.The rubber bottom on this spinner keeps it in place on the counter while you are using it.This is a big improvement over the standard spinners.
2.The large capacity is also very nice if you eat a lot of vegetation.
3.The pump is easy to use provided that you remember not to push all the way to the bottom of the stroke with causes it to lock.This takes a little getting used to, but you will get the hang of it eventually.
4.The pump mechanism should be less susceptible to breakage than the string models.I have heard from others that the pull mechanism is prone to breakage on the pull models.
5.It removes as much water from the produce as my battery operated salad spinner.

Cons:
1.I can't remove the center stem on the basket no matter what I try.I think that this is a design flaw.
2.The spinner is a little awkward to clean with the center stem in place.

Overall, I think this product is middle of the road, not great but not terrible either.I like having the extra capacity, but I would be much happier if I could get the stem out of the basket to facilitate cleaning the thing.

6ft Spinner Flagpole - White Aluminum Review

(More customer reviews)Pretty good product, way better than what I was using before. Does what it is supposed to do for the most part, spin around and keep the flag from wrapping around itself. Everyonce in a while the Flag will wrap itself once, but a quick tug on the flag and its back to working the way it is supposed to. The pole is a bit loose in my bracket, and where the tightening screw in the bracket tightens against the pole the paint has started to come off, but it is barely noticable. I fly my flag 24/7 (I try to take it down if I know a thunderstorm is coming) and after 6 months, I'm very happy with it.

So upon realizing that I need fresh salads for optimal health, I decided to explore options for preserving them. After examining various 'vacuum seal' options, the Lettuce Keeper jumped out as the most logical looking solution. Vegetables, just like plants in the ground, need some air circulation, and the Lettuce Keeper system has all the aspects of vegetable preservation covered. It even has a lower tray from which water evaporates into the storage chamber, which is ventilated. Evaporation and ventilation are applied differentially to various vegetables and fruits.

My experience with the Lettuce Keeper confirms my initial impression of it. It preserves salads far longer than I've seen with any other storage medium I've used. After a week contents show no sign of spoilage or aging. I've not tried any 'vacuum seal' containers, so I can't compare this to that, but I can say this works very well! As per the initial critical review here, the instructions say to place the lid and all on a dishwasher's top rack. I couldn't be happier with this device; and thanks to it, I can be healthier too!

When it came time to replace my salad spinner I figured I'd give them a shot on this as well.

Summary: this thing broke and was in the trash in 2 weeks.The center stem mechanism broke apart and all the parts separated.

Hits:
--Easy to clean basket... easier to clean than most other spinners... shreds of lettuce and or carrots rarely get stuck in there and a simple rinse will clean the basket usually.
--Easy to lock spinner plate into place.
--Easy push-to-spin mechanism

Misses:
--Durability... Broke in a few weeks.I think the stem design can stand some improvement.This component has to withstand quite a bit of stress.

--Overall design:Since it only turns in one direction, quite a bit of water can remain in the lettuce.I tried an experiment where I dried lettuce with OXO, then dropped the lettuce it into my old Trudeau rip-cord/bi-directional spinner after and the Trudeau got about 2 additional tablespoons of water out.

I was very happy to have found this with Tupperware.My first spinner which I purchased years ago was also from Tupperware and I loved that one too!
